I would also ad in here that the fad of recent is “Pre-Launch”. Let’s be very real about this amazing industry shall we? It is an absolute fact that a large majority of new MLM companies fail in their first two years of sooner! So looking at a company that is in it’s fourth year is a good thing especially when they have not gone in to momentum YET! They have survived the first 2 years and they are truly on their way.
2. Is it the right industry? Is the industry that the product line is built around contracting or expanding? What if you knew for a FACT that you were looking at a 10 year window, or better, of an opportunity that is going from 8 TRILLION dollars to 15 TRILLION over the next 10 years? THE Largest industry in the World! ! I’d say you would be in the right place at the right time.
3. Is it the right product? Ok, listen up here because I know at this point I’m going to step on some toes here, however you have to look at what IS and PEOPLE IS this business. You have to understand that people don’t buy what they want, they buy what they….. NEED! In my opinion the hardest thing to change is people and their buying habits. So what if you had a product that people were already using, And could deliver this product to the market place at a significant rate of savings for the consumer? You see if you are having to mark up some juice or vitamin products, that can be bought in a retail store for less, just so you could have room to compensate the distributor how hard do you think it’s going to be to keep the client on a auto ship program before they drop out? After all this business, MLM and Network Marketing, is all about Recruit and Retail right? Nothing against those companies, I’m just saying you are dealing with People, human nature. Heck it’s hard enough for people to change themselves let alone you trying to change their buying habits.
4. Is it the right compensation plan? Has the leadership had enough business sense to do things like set up financial reserves? Do they reward active reps in the business and not simply for people buying business centers who try to leverage a comp plan? Stick with a company that has integrity in this matter. Is there a cap on the amount of money you can earn as a distributor? VERY Important!!! I have top income earners joining my company monthly because they are Maxed Out in their current company at $50,000 or $120,000. I call that a clue. And success leaves clues!
5. Are their support tools and systems in place for your success? You have to know what you don’t know to make your MLM business grow. This is very important and should NOT be overlooked.
Does it sound too good to be true? Well, what if you had a company that was built exactly that way? TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!! I would rather have a company that is too good to be true than a company that is true and sucks.
